Is jacksonville NC a nice place to live?

my husband is getting re-stationed there i know it has to be better than 29 palms CA but i'm a little nervous because i've never even been in NC so i don't know what to expect!

  1. In simple terms... Jacksonville is full of:

    1. Tattoo Parlor's

    2. Strip Clubs

    3. McDonald'ss

    4. Steak Houses

    and 5. Car dealerships

    I mean, it isn't terrible. The weather is nice. The mall has pretty slim pickings for stores. There is a main road called Western Blvd. that basically has everything you need on it.

    Good luck with your move! I would suggest getting involved in something so you can make friends quick... or the city can get very very boring.


  2. If you are used to California then moving to North Carolina will be a major culture shock for you. I have lived near Jacksonville and it was definitely way different then the Illinois suburb I grew up in. I dont mean that it is a bad place, its just different. I actually liked living down there once I got used to it. Its warm and the people are friendly. They like to say "Bless your heart!" and they drink a lot of sweet tea, which I cant live without now... Dont be nervous its just a simpler way of life.
