Is jim edmonds having a great season, considering how awful he was in san diego?

You could argue hes been the best center fielder in baseball since he has come over to the cubs. (call me crazy, but here are some stats to somewhat back that up). His OPS with the cubs (.939) would be the highest in baseball among center fielders if you just translated his numbers from the cubs. That's how good hes been. The only thing i haven't liked about him is his occasional lackadaisical throws back to the infield that have given the other team extra bases.

Edmonds admitted to adjusting his swing to suit the 'friendly confines'. He knew that balls that would be pop flys in most parks (especially Petco) would be HRs in Wrigley. So it looks like that has worked for him.

He's has a much better offense hitting around him.

I think he has been a great addition to the Chicago Cubs...not excatly the best CF but hes among the top. Yes, his lazy throws have given up xtra bases and sometimes he strikeouts a little too much at times, hes a good veteran player who has world series experience, great CF range, and a nice bat to go along with it to make a great addition to the (hopefully) World Series bound Cubs

So to answer your question, yes he is having a great season

(Possibly the reason why he had a bad season in SD is because he was hurt that Spring Training and didnt get to play and his track record shows him not to fare too well early on after missing Spring Trainging...if you didnt already know)

Whenever an outstanding player, especially whenever older stars are not in shape when the season starts and are playing in a larger park, they usually struggle for 6 to 8 weeks. Plus by going  to a club that is stocked with very good to outstanding players is definitely an ego booster and Edmonds has responded beautifully. A smaller centerfield has also helped Edmonds.
