  1. Only join the army if you get bad grades, anybody can join the army.

I personally would rather not become cannon fodder in iraq.

  2. It is definitely a good idea, yes.

  3. Of course you get paid! I'm not sure where you live, but over here in Australia soldiers are paid and looked after reasonably well.

Are you very physically fit? Do you enjoy physical activities? Are you okay with working in a VERY structured, disciplined environment? Do you enjoy working as a team? Are you prepared to undergo a lot of training for situations which you might not even get into? Are you prepared to be locked into a contract, with few ways to get out of the Army till the contract expires? Do you enjoy traveling? Are you prepared to deal with any hardships? Do you like very good, close camaraderie? Are you prepared to obey orders without question or thinking? Are you prepared to be sent over-seas where there is a chance you could be involved in a firefight or other stressful/challenging situation? Are you prepared to undergo training which is EXTREMELY demanding, both physically and mentally?

If you said 'yes' to all these questions you should be fine.

  4. all i have to say is if you want to risk your life for your friends or your enemy's in other words the your country then join the army but if you hate your enemy's and you care more about a dot on the wall more then you would care abut them then well thats your choice

  5. I would learn to spell first.  "pirsone" is spelled person.  You know that there is spell check on this thing right.  I would first go to school and broaden your horizon.  Maybe you will see something else out there that you like.

  6. There are some better ideas out there.

  7. Yes you get paid alot but if a war starts you have to go or otherwise you go to jail.

  8. that's a nice thought.you can do many things for your country and people.if you really love helping people and think you are patriotic then go for it.yes, you get payed.

  9. It has helped so many friends in my life and they are very proud of themselves. I'm proud of them!

  10. you should take a look at the different branches within the army first,

I mean you can be a front line soldier, or tank commander, or medic, or even a chef. Joining the military isn't a bad idea, you should just know what you are getting into

    and yeah you get paid

  11. Ask yourself this question: Am I willing to die for my country? You can get paid well, $20,000 sign on bonus. Personally I didn't want to have an arm blown off or something crazy like that. But to each his own, if you feel compelled to help your country go for it, when your 18.

  12. *** no they treat u like an animal.....

  13. Join the military if you truly want to "help, protect, and serve" your country.  That is something to be proud of.

Don't join because you're getting money for college.

Remember, you're signing your life away.

  14. there are many positions that you can apply to in the different branches of the military, and not all are dangerous. if you are strong minded heartless warrior the navy seals or the marines would be good and if you sign up as an army soldier you will likely die but there are safer jobs in the military....

  15. ya you get payed alot my uncle is in the army and he's like rich

  16. If you don't mind watching a few of your best friends die or a few pounds of shrapnel up your buttocks then I say GO FOR IT

  17. thats up 2 u

  18. yes it pays.

i hate when my friends even joke about joining the army, for the simple fact that you could die, and even if they say you wont have to fight unless we need you or whatever, what if the world decides to go to war and they need you and you get shot or blown up or whatever and die. yea people are gonna be thankful that you risked your life to help keep theirs but if your not married, or you dont have a family and you die before you get the chance, thats gonna suck. or if you are married and have a family there gonna miss you and its gonna be hard for them.

i would not recomend it, i do not think its worth it, some people do, some people will prolly read my response and think im selfish and blah blah blah but honestly i wouldnt wanna join the army at 18 before my life has even started then get killed when im 19 and not have had the chance that everyone has gotten.

i dont see what makes my life any less valueable then yours, why should i risk my life for you when you are not willing to risk your life for mine.

^^thats just how i personally feel.

  19. It's actually a horrid idea. i have a couple friends that enrolled in the army/navy/marines and they regret it everyday.

  20. Joining the army has its pros and cons.

Right now we're in a time of war and they definitely need men and women therefore there are great sign in bonuses.  YOu get to travel the world which is great and you will learn many skills that are appreciated in the workforce.  There is also some financial assistance for veterans to further their education.

That being said, the men and women of the United States armed forces are terribly underpaid.  They make about a dollar an hour and have horrible health benefits which do not apply after their contract with the military is over.

Like I said, theres good and theres bad.

Remember that in joining the military you are putting your life on the line and if you're not ready to do that, then the army is not for you.

    I hope I helped a little.

  21. Depends how your life is.

  22. Joining the armed forces used to be a lot more value for all that you are giving up.  When you join the military, yes, you get paid, but if you'd been watching the news lately, you'd know that the government hasn't exactly been treating it's soldiers well.  They don't offer full scholarship programs anymore, though, they do offer on site training and probably certification.

However, to me, that's just stopping you from getting an education and training in a college or university along side civilians.  Why should they get to control what you learn, how you learn it, how you should apply it and when you learn it?  You should determine these things on your own.

The military also does not offer very much aid in terms of getting a home loan or taking the burden of some of the mortgage.  And, as of late, they aren't doing very well with their health-care services, either.

I would say that this is probably one of the worst times in recent history to join the armed forces.  You have a very high probability of going to combat, and having to take lives.  You have a high probability that you will have your life taken.

15 years ago, it was one of the best times to join the armed forces.  Great benefits, educational freedom, home aid, etc.

NAY!  I say no!  I think that if you are truly the type of person that you say you are, then you need to stay out of the military.  If you are a caring compassionate person for your fellow community, then do something with your life that isn't just 'taking a bullet that some other guy/gal didn't'.  You can do a whole h**l of a lot more good with that heart and mind if you get it well educated, and then find the right professional field to go into that will allow you to help people in this country.

  23. you do get payed and they will also pay for your college. but if i were u i would join the navy or the national guard because you will have allot less chance of dying.

  24. No.

    E

  25. yes its worth it yes u get paid when ur in the army they pay for school, meals, etc. when u get out they can set u up with a job any where ,severving the military will look great on ur record ,people will admire you... u will gain great leadership skills .im going the marines... good luck i support ur choice

  26. Yes you get paid. Yes it is a very good idea.

Whoever said that the pay 'is like a dollar an hour' is very wrong! And the health benefits can't be beat, unless you get paid a bonus for illness and/or injury, and nobody gets that!

After 20 plus years, I have not had any body parts blown off. I have not died. My father and mother have not died, nor have my brothers, various aunts, uncles and cousins. My grandfathers died, of old age - they served in the Army and Navy during WW II.

    I received excellent training.

Sure, there are demanding days - hot, cold, snowing so hard you can't see the front of your vehicle, extreme cold, rain, wild animals, and the occasional enemy.

But there were many more good days.

Military service is not to be taken lightly. You will be ordered to do things that you do not want to do. You will be required to do some dangerous things. But here is the cool thing, you will be trained to do things that you don't think anybody can do.

Military service is not for everyone, most people can't manage the commitment. But for those that serve even the minimum enlistment, they can stand proud and honestly claim that they worked to make the nation safe.

My family now consists of Any person in the world who has or is honorably serving in any military of any nation - My Brothers and Sisters in Arms.

  27. Ummm well my friend died in the army....soo theres better things
