Is jump roping a good exercise to do to lose weight?

Does anyone know how many calories you can burn this way?

  1. Jump rope is a good way to exercise and it is also very good for your heart and it is a good thing to do to get your fitness up as most boxers do it for their fitness

    But i do not know how many calories you would burn but it is probably the same as going for a jog for 1 hour .

  3. I read on the internet one time that jumping rope for an hour will burn 1000 calories. i havent tried it, but it seems like it would work!

  5. Well I wasn't big to begin with, but my coach had me jump rope all of last summer to gain explosiveness, improve footwork & coordination, and increase stamina & endurance.

    I lost 12 lbs. in a span of just 3 months (from 134 to 122lbs).  Indeed, it's a very efficient workout and will get your heart pumping faster than any other cardio workout.  Do it HIIT style for added intensity.
