  1. No, if you sit and supervise very well.  Playing with playdoh helps a child develop the fine motor skills that are essential for future skills, especially writing.

  2. Actually, NO! Playdoh is a great way for him or her to exercise his hands while being allowed to explore a new texture. But - do not leave him alone with it as he will likely eat it. It isn't toxic, but large amounts of it will likely make him vomit.

  3. Yes. At that age they still want to put everything in their mouth. No age is really safe for playdough but I would say 8 and older.

  4. I think it really depends on the child.  Since it is non toxic I would let the child play with it, but make sure you sit right there with them while they are playing with it.  If they try to eat it, put it away for a few months and then bring it back out and try again.  I think they would really enjoy it.

  5. Yes, even though its non-toxic,any 1 year old will just want to eat it. They wont have the concept on how to make things yet.

  6. No a lot of people have told me that one is too young of an age but it actually isn't it helps them with there fine motor skills i had a parents teacher come to my house every month and she gave my daughter play dough to play with and yes it can be dangerous if you are not right there with them because they put everything in there mouth at that age just make sure if you do that you are playing with him/her and watching him/her

  7. Yes, the hazard of choking on a ball too big is very likely since it looks edible and a one year old does not know better.  You have to be there to watch and help them with it.  They may have fun smooshing it around and learning a new texture is always fun.

  8. If you are going to use it, try looking on the internet for homemade playdough recipes so at least you know what it is made out of and it is all edible.

  9. No, it is a great way to exercise the one year old's hands and for them to explore and make things. I would give them edible play-doh and wouldn't leave them alone with it in case they put a big ball in their mouth, but this way the shouldn't vomit. Check the recipes for allergies to peanut butter.

  10. Yes and no they would enjoy playing with it but they would try to eat it and they would make a mess but I think you should try it and watch them make  sure they don't eat it but i think they would have a blast squishing it though their fringers

  11. It's non toxic but I would still strongly recommend you don't give the child play doh until 1 and a half, 2 years of age.

    Here's an article on it:

  12. yes

  13. Yes, the kid will just eat it.  There should be a suggested age on the package.

  14. It depends on the child. If they are prone to put anything they see into their mouth, yes, if not, then as long as you are with them, go for it. my son is 16 months old and has recently discovered playdough. He loves it!  We squish it in hands, pat it out and he pushes cookie cutters in to make shapes and animals.
