  1. I thought it was as well, but they are really different. The one from the nineties, by jill sobule is about a woman who was married to a man because she was suppressing her homosexuality, and Katy Perry's song is about a girl just having fun in a club and getting.. 'loose' I guess, would be a suitable word.
