  1. French fries and ketchup are normally fine for vegetarians to eat.

That doesn't mean it's especially healthy. It should be viewed  as a snack, not something to eat often. They shouldn't take the place of a "vegetable serving" in your diet.

Additionally, fries in restaurants may be deep fried with meat, or in McDonalds, they add beef flavoring to the fries. This makes them unsuitable for most vegetarians.

  2. You could say that, I guess =/ Now I want some fries....

  3. French fries yes, ketchup no.

French fried potatoes are no less a vegetable (other than low on nutrition) than stir fried broccoli. Ketchup, being tomato based however, can not be a veggie because tomatoes are fruits.

  4. I like the fries from in-in out burger(in south-western US only). They cook their fries in cholesterol-free vegetable oil and they give you packets of heinz ketchup which are also vegan.

  5. Sorry, But no.

  6. Fruit & Veggie

    - French fries are veggie since they come from potatoes.

    - Ketchup is from tomatoes so it's a fruit.

  7. no way sorry

  8. Technically, a little bit, because of the tomatoes and potatoes, but officially, I don't think it counts as a full serving of veggies or anything, just because the veggies are so fried and concentrated ;)

  9. Yes it is.  It certainly is not meat or mineral.

  10. i think french fries could be considered a veg but ketchup is a product of a veg

  11. In my world it is, but I also count chocolate as a milk product and skittles fruit as each color has its own fruity name.

  12. Fries are considered a veggie...but if they are deep fried or pan fried their unhealthiness outweighs the healthiness of the potatoes.  If you eat fresh cut baked fries, they would make a better vegetable choice.

Ketchup is made from tomatoes, which are vegetables.  However ketchup is a condiment, not a vegetable.  Ketchup still does retain some of the nutritional value of tomatoes though...the lycopene and the vitamin C.

  13. nope.

ketchup is processed..  has chemical preservatives that most likely stem from animal bi product.

french fries, unless you cut them yourself and bake them aren't either.

  14. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  15. It is vegetarian if the fries aren't cooked in animal fat.

The potato is a vegetable and the ketchup is more or less the same as having a tomato.

  16. It is, but not very healthy. Try a baked potato instead.

  17. Yes--though they are not a very healthy choice of vegetables due to fat, salt, & other additives, the primary ingredients in these are potatoes and tomatoes.

  18. These thing are made from veggies, but that's about as close as you'll get.

  19. Unfortunately not since the ketchup is so heavily processed and the fries are deep fried in hot oil.  After all that the vegetables in them lose their vitamins and minerals.  They're made of vegetables, yes, but not nutritious enough to be called vegetables.

It would be like calling a donut a wheat and grain product.
