  1. The King's Cross area used to have quite a reputation for prostitution and other criminality, but it is in the process of being revamped and it isn't anywhere near as bad as it was.

Whilst out late at night, avoid the back streets and don't walk around drunk on your own - so it's no different to any major city really...

  2. No more so than any other place. Unsafe yes a brick could fall on your head. Dangerous yes you could get knocked down crossing the road.

Just be sensible and you'll be fine.

  3. It's full of homeless people, junkies and prostitues.

Just be on your guard at all times and stay on the main roads.

  4. it can be a bit dodgy....and i've heard of there being prostitutes lurking about, but i've never seen any. Becuase of clubs and stuff in the area it can get really busy....and the station is such a cenral point, so that adds to the commotion.........but i would much prefer to stay somewhere else...

  5. don't worry about it.  I've stayed at hotels there before and I will be in a couple of weeks.  Most central/busy areas are fine as long as youre not hanging about on your own very late at night.  I've been mugged in London before but that was in Tottenham, very dodgy area!

  6. Don't worry. You will see certain 'types' hanging around in front of the train station on occasions, but apart from that, it really is no worse than the rest of London. In fact I'd be more wary of being pick pocketed at Oxford Circus than King's X - crims targeting shoppers.

Simply keep your wits about you at night, keep hold of your bag, don't get talking to people you don't know in the street etc. Precautions for any busy city. Stop worrying and don't let that ruin your trip. I have never had a problem there and have lived in London 10 years.

  7. It used to be dodgy, but it's pretty safe nowadays.

  8. I work in Kings Cross, and it is safe. Like anywhere in London, it has it's moments. But it is extremely busy around the main area which in itself acts as a deterent. However, I would not recommend straying too far off the main road (Euston Rd), as there are some unsavoury places close by as well

  9. it can be a very rough area, lots of prostitutes, and drug dealers, there are better areas, i wouldn't feel safe walking about there at night !

  10. it is safe dont worry

  11. Yes. Just stay on the main streets if you do go out at night.

  12. The Kings Cross area has really improved.  It is always busy so even in the late evening/night there are people about.  Like with most parts of London just stay to the main street at night especially if alone.  Also keep your belongs safe when out as pick pockets do operate day and night.

  13. No where new is really safe at night is it. specially in a big city. Yes there may be prostitutes but they not gonna mug you theyed rather f**k you lol (sorry had to say it).

I'm sure you'll be fine, it's not that bad. It's central so will be busy most of the time.

  14. nah you'll be fine. Just dont get drunk and pass out in the gutter.

  15. Just be a bit careful about what you do and where you go alone. Anyway can be dangerous late at night!

  16. Still a few junkies around, but overall fairly safe these days. Used to be way dodgy!
