  1. Let's face it everything - apart from the necessary legal stuff - is optional at any wedding.  You can do whatever you want - it is your wedding, for whatever the reason...

  2. i dont think its a requirement/.

  3. First of all if you are only getting married for citizenship why our u having a wedding? (go to the courthouse)

Second, if you marry for citizenship and it is found out that the person married just to avoid deportation, the person will be charged with marriage fraud and barred for life from the United States.

Also, the citizen spouse could face criminal prosecution for violation of Title 18 United States Code, Section 1015. This could result in fines and/or imprisonment for up to 5 years.

So do you really want to send them to jail???

  4. If you don't want to kiss the person, don't get married!

  5. you should not be getting married for citizenship

  6. I bet you can just hug

  7. you should just do a kiss on the cheek and a hug to avoid the kissing thing

  8. A brief kiss is not going to hurt.

  9. First of all, you can't do marriage for citizenship, getting US citizenship is an entirely different process.  You can get resident alien status if you marry an American, however--it's considered fraud if you marry solely for legal alien status.  The non-American would also be deported as soon as he/she divorced the American, so it's really not worth it.

  10. You do not have to kiss at a wedding.  In fact, I went to an Indian (from the country India) wedding last year and both of their families were very conservative and so they did not kiss at the wedding.

  11. Like, I think you should be arrested AT the alter for that. "You may now be ... arrested!"

  12. I guess you don't HAVE to kiss at a wedding, but I would clear that with the minister/officiant first so he/she doesn't say "you may kiss the bride" and you say "no thank you". Good luck.
