2 days ago i saw a fight that really impressed me.Chris, 17 year old karate practitioner with a green belt about 5'9 was jealous of the popularity of Tyler, this 15 year old kid with a yellow belt in san soo of about 5'2. the 17 year old challenged the little guy during a lunch brake.

kind of hard to explain but heres how the fight went. Chris punched, threw, and kicked Tyler.he lets Tyler get up, Chris does the same thing again only with a different throw. this time tyler gets up again(forgot to mention he always has a smile)and when chris was about to hit him again, Tyler somehow did a lock on Chris' arm, a punch on the ear and when they dropped to the floor,

there was a really loud snap and a crying Chris with a broken arm. and tyler looked fine besides the dirty shirt.

i was extremely amazed that I've been wondering if thats the kind of skills anyone can learn in kung fu san soo? or was Tyler just lucky, or was Chris just a plain looser.

  1. kung fu san soo is closer to MMA arts Than karate. Even though  kung fu  san soo is a Softer Version of mixed martial arts and is a softer style than karate. it can be effective in the hands of a more experienced and and skilled fighter. The same holds true for a karate fighter. That's why they say "may the best man win."

  2. When are people going to get it through their head that it there is no martial arts style that is better than another. It all boils down to:

    1) how well the art is taught

    2) how well the student learns and understands what is taught

    3) proper practice

    4) Luck    ..... And yes anyone can have a bad day or get caught off guard.

If there was one art that was superior to others everyone would do that art and the other arts would die out.

Come on guys... If there was a superior art students of that art would always win a fight.   Never has happened and never will.

  3. As every martial arts enthusiast knows, that depends entirely upon the practitioner.
