Lane Cove is a lovely suburb, and it's a stones throw away from Artarmon, around 3 kms

Very nice suburb, probably the second wealthiest area after the eastern suburbs/harbourfront suburbs, in fact all of the lower north shore is very upper-class, safe, and convenient for public transport.

Yes to both questions. Lived there myself till moved out of the city.Its central to town yet still has the National Park and that leafy feeling but if you like the more flat style living there are plenty of Apartments to either rent or buy.

Lane Cove is a safe convenient suburb.  It is just across the Pacific Hwy to Artarmon (the next suburb).

There are a range of apartments available.

Lane Cove is very close to Artarmon and it is a quick drive into the city either over the harbour bridge or around through the Anzac Bridge. There are some very nice properties around and a fair number of apartment blocks. Some of the area is industrial but this is more office blocks than factories. There are plenty of schools and parks and also a reserve. The Lane Cove shops have everything you would need, post office, banks, supermarkets etc.
