  1. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and this disorder is a receptive language disorder meaning a person has problems processing verbal language. Most people with this problem have no difficulty processing gestures, sign language, or picture communication icons.


  2. A language processing disorder is a verbal (language) related learning disability.  Typically, students with non-verbal learning disabilities do not have language problems per se.  THey often present with average to above average language and vocabulary skills.
