  1. yes

  2. We know little about Lapu-Lapu but we make him a hero anyway since he fought against the idea of colonialism. The deeper story goes that Rajah Humabon and Lapu-Lapu were rivals. Lapu-Lapu was suspected by some historians to be a marauder and was notorious in the island of Sugbo(Cebu)where Humabon reigned.

When Magellan arrived, Humabon was impressed with the Spanish arsenal they brought with them. The rajah and his family became a good friend to Magellan. And trust was passed around enough for King Humabon to submit Christianization as he and his wife were later baptized gaining the name Carlos and Juana. During their blood compact Humabon then asked Magellan if he could do him a favor to rid off Lapu-Lapu the 'troublemaker' who refused to convert to Christianity. The Battle of Mactan then commences.
