I'm thinking of moving there and I was told vegas will be dried up in 20 years. But I live in AZ right now and I know there's a drought here. I just want to be able to take a shower and stuff.

  1. Yes, it is in a drought. The same drought AZ is in, because both Nevada and Arizona get their water from the same river. If you live in AZ now, you will be no worse off moving to Vegas.

It is just that you will find it very, expensive to have a green lawn.

  2. We have had the same drought as AZ, ours has lasted over six years.  The level of Lake Mead is down as states like AZ, CA and others take more and more water.

Yes, you can shower.  You just won't have a green lawn and I expect soon the building of more swimming pools will be eliminated.

There is no way Lake Mead will go dry because it makes hordes of electricity that CA and other states, but not NV, use.

  3. It is in a drought, and will continue to be as long as the urban sprawl, and large scale building continues to be allowed.
