The Republican convention was impressive without all the Hollywood props. Just presenting the facts without hype, was it good enough?

  4. nope...mostly fiction.  The facts were glossed over.

  5. Yes

  6. It was the most boring convention with the most boring speeches I've seen in my lifetime.

I'd say it's the Republican Party that has completely lost its way and needs to re-invent itself.  It was sad to see McCain trying to embrace the policies of the last eight years while criticizing his own party at the same time.

  7. Yes, people are getting tired of the far left loons. A lot of Dems are feeling the same way. They are realizing that the loons are destroying their party.

  8. Liberism and conservatism will always be around. But I think more people are leaning toward conservatism right now. And yet most all are favoring some type of change. We will definitely have eithor our 1st black president or our 1st women VP .

  9. You weren't watching the right convention if you think it was all facts and no hype.

In fact, it was neither facts nor hype.  Just the same partisan rhetoric and propaganda.  Rants that epitomize everything they are themselves slamming.  Hypocrisy galore.  United States Politics.

Liberalism is relative to conservatism and vice versa.  Neither are trends, and neither will ever be "on their way out."

Your big government Republicans are more liberal than anyone.  Liberals are starting to support small government and individual liberties, which is the most conservative view one could have, but which have become radical after the last few presidencies.

  10. It sounded just like a n**i party rally to me.

  11. not at all.  most Americans have liberal qualities (whether they know it or not)

if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."

    President John Fitzgerald Kennedy

  12. Obama and clinton EACH got over 18 million votes in the primary

    McCain got 9 million...

... i don't think liberalism is going anywhere.
