With the high price of fuel I was thinking of getting a 150cc scooter to run around town for errands and was wondering if I would need to get a special license and if it would have to be registered and have a license plate and inspection sticker.

  1. Call your local BMV...Good luck! Gas prices suck all around.

  3. Yes. 150/250cc are classed as motorcycles, you need an M endorsement. You need insurance and you need an inspection sticker too. You will have to pay taxes on it to register it.

  4. A motorcycle license is required for any scooter that is 50cc's and up.  Anything under 50cc's you are not required to have a motorcycle license.  Registration is fairly cheap and so is insuarance.  Insurance on my 125cc scooter was only 140 for the entire year.
