  1. If you wanna be a guy with no routines, become homeless and you can do everything you want whenever you want.

  2. It's not as bad as it sounds. You do PT, go to work, some have formations but other than that you have free time to do what you want.  If you HATE routines, then don't join.

  3. Yes. Once we got out of basic, if you turned in your laundry it must have been Thursday.

  4. Yes

  5. Yes.  My son works a regular shift... has evenings and weekends free unless there's something going on... and lives off base with 3 other Marines.  He's having a great time!

Understand, though, that if you're in the infantry, it won't necessarily be that way.  Those infantry Marines do a LOT of training exercises where they're gone for several weeks at a time... so it depends on what MOS you select, really.  If you're in a support position, then you're most likely working shift work.

All that said, when you are in the military, you're essentially on call 24/7.  Many military folks don't get called in on weekends and evenings... but when it happens, you go.

  6. your actual job will most likely not be a routine, its your time on base, how you fold your laundry, time you wake up in the morning, time you eat lunch. that kinda thing will come natural every day. i hated it too. you become used to it. trust me.

  7. It is much like a regular job, but you can pretty much do what you want in your free time.
