  1. HI Shelly,

A very interesting question indeed. Well what uve asked is simple yet complicated enough to answer.

See the way i see it, we all are born for a purpose may be physical , spiritual, emotional or mental...but we all have our own purpose to achieve n the whole life we just move on n on to get our goals right and do the best to achieve these goals.

We use all our strength could be mental, physical or emotional to achive that goal no matter how difficult the task seem. the hard working people do try their luck.

And you've put it right....life is a big quest. And the day you find the answer for it its ur last day or its just ur birthday in the real world.

And this gift full of quest is given to us for some useful purpose by the powerful one above... so u actually cant say much just follow what comes your way and do ur best to overcome everything that holds you back.

There is one thing that you do which helps everyone..that is SMILE.

  2. YES. POSITIVE OUTLOOK!

  3. No, life is one big quest to stop feeling so bad.

  4. NO, sorry but the question means NOTHING

    (i call it, a DEPONENT propositions, one who deceives;

what's the sense of 'feeling better' ? it's vacuity )

    the right formula is:

life is just a big quest to GET RID of any needs

  5. In general, I think good lies in seeking the things we value, i.e. be constantly seeking the Kingdom of Heaven.

  6. The first answer by Lucky started well but incomplete. So is our big quest. What we are forgetting, we are just finishing some battles, but the war has to be won.

There is a a quote, "Nature attempts nothing in vain".

So, is the life, given to us, revealing some hidden truth, by every experience, be it a failure, a feel better or feel bitter moment.

The very purpose of this life, is to understand the questions,

    1. Who am I?

    2. What I am doing here?

    3. Where I want to go, from here/now?

  7. Incoherent way of putting it, but yes I would say that there has always been an idea of a quest for personal improvement.

I don't think it is strange at all that we continually try to improve - it is one of the most rational things humans do. After all, if one is given a blank canvas, why not paint on it?

If, however, you instead are suggesting that we are all hedonistic then you should look John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham.

What is more disturbing to me is the problem of "akrasia" - or acting against one's better judgment. Why do we persistently engage in activities that are personally damaging?

  8. Life is what you make it.  We are all driven by desire, and we ultimately learn something from everything we do.  Every single moment is different, and our memories--extensive or minute; good or bad--serve in some way to remind us of what we truly want out of life.

I don't know what the meaning of life is.  No one here on Earth really does.  I guess we just need to keep faith in what we believe in our hearts to give us comfort.

  9. No, I'm reading this question and responding to it because the two points i get for doing so gets me to level 6.  To answer your primary question, if life is a big quest to feel better, then we should check our maps because I suspect we may be holding them upside down.
