  1. I think it would be richer than one who has to go to church on Sundays and pray.  Praying is really annoying, especially in church.  You keep rising then sitting back down.  Also, prayer has this silly habit of not working.

  2. hundreds of years ago, wise people looked at the stars and saw all sorts of things they perceived as being real.  Now that we know what stars are, we know that the patterns in the night sky were imaginary, no Orion's belt nor bear.

In the worldview of those who reject God, there is no pattern that is true meaning.  It is all imaginary.  We imagine that helping the whales or helping the snails gives meaning.  And we believe it because we must believe it.  We cannot bear the idea of a meaningless existence so we invent meaning.

Meaning and purpose are essentially the same thing.  They both imply a plan and a planner.  Without God, there is no purpose in life:

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell

(you could give me a one star best answer if you like)

  3. Life without the interference of gods would leave a lot of time freed up from having to battle against hard-headed religionists. It could be used meaningfully.

What it could be used for is another question.

  4. Life without god can be both meaningless or rich, it all determines on ones perceptual reality. Life is what you make it. Rich or meaningless. Though I wouldn't call Rich and meaningless opposites.

  5. If an individual does not believe in God, does not mean their life is not without meaning and full of richness. I am Agnostic (I neither believe nor disbelieve) and yet my life is full of meaning and I find richness in each day and every aspect of my life. For some who believe in a God, they think their sole purpose in actions is to follow God's philosophy (do good unto others). Even though I do not believe in a God, does not mean I do not follow that same philosophy.

I think my actions have consequences; therefore I strive to do good for the sake of being good, instead of being good for a God. Just look around this world we live in-- each leaf on a tree, each blade of grass, the sun rising in the sky, beauty of the stars, that beautiful smile on a friend’s face-- that is richness and "depth". The universe we live in is such a beautiful and rich place-- I do not need to believe in a God who created that to find that richness-- for I see it already and know it is there.

It is true that some people believe in a God and particular reason to find purpose, meaning and depth in their life-- but it is also true that some (like myself) do not need to accept that to find that life is that already full of purpose.

  6. You may find life has less meaning without God, but that's because you haven't thought up another reason yet.

I've decided that the meaning of life is simply to live, and make myself happy.

But I do enjoy making others happy, it gives my life more meaning, because I'm also giving meaning to other's lives.

I also feel that life is richer without God, because you're now free to live independantly, instead of living with an omnipresent being on your shoulders.
