  1. Well i can claim the same thing, since I pray to Thunar who's very name is the origin of "Thunder."  However, i'm smart enough to know that lightning is caused by interaction of hot humid air and dry cold air, causing a sudden increase in negative ions.  Nature abhors imbalance so to rectify the situation, causes a sudden discharge.  Same when lightning comes to the surface, you end up seeing small little mini positive charged lightning bolts called step leaders coming off from several tall objects.

  2. As much as dirt is.

  3. There's a fine scientific explanation for HOW lightning happens, it's method, yes. Not much in the way of how it got to be that way (the ingredients coming together to do the job)

Proof is relative, a lightly used term that had a definite meaning. Everyone has their own standards. Shockingly obvious to some is retarded nonsense to others. Too much opinion leaking in.

  4. Lightning is proof that God rains.

  5. Surely you recognize that lightning is proof that the christian god, in particular, does not exist.

  6. The problem has been solved long ago. So there is no fantasies about it anymore.

  7. Thor maybe.

It's a sign of electrical activity in the atmosphere.  If that's divine, kneel before the electric company and worship.

  8. No. "Lightning is an atmospheric discharge of electricity."

  9. No,it proves His anger tho.

  10. Troll bait.

  11. Don't be so darn silly!  In pre-scientific cultures people did not understand natural phenomena and their causes the way we do today.  Lightning was mysterious and often frightening.  At times it could be terribly destructive.  Thus it is understandable that primitive peoples thought that lightning was a sign of the gods' displeasure.

We've moved on a bit since then.  In the west and in many other cultures we have education, and children learn the basic facts of physics.  If you don't know that lightning is a gigantic electrical discharge between two differently charged clouds or between one cloud and the earth then you weren't paying much attention in science lessons at school.

You could remedy this serious gap in your scientific education by googling "Lightning" or looking it up on Wikipedia.

Or, of course, you could just be a troll.  In which case, Get a life!

  12. Nope.

  13. No. Since there is a perfectly rational natural explanation for lightning, there is no need to turn to a supernatural explanation.

  14. No, its electrons and protons or is it neutrons. Look on wikipedia. But maybe God had something to do with its ooccurrence
