  2. No, I have never been taught that. Lightning is not like the Sun, where it is a constant bright light shining.

  3. OH YEAH, you get hit with a jolt of electricity of that magnitude, it'll blind you

  4. Good question, i've never really thought about that. I don't know if it could be or not. I sort of doubt it because i've seen many close-by lightning strikes strike several times all the way to the ground and it has never hurt my eyes at all. If it's bright enough, you may get a small flash in your eyes, but i doubt it could be too bad, unless maybe one strikes almost on top of you and you see it.
