Is lime green a bad bedroom color?

I want to paint my bedroom a light shade of lime green. A lot of people are telling me it's to overwhelming. Is it true?

yes it is. the colors strain your eyes if you spend too much time surrounded by them. try dark green.

Lime green is a very energetic, frenetic color.  It is definitely not calming.  If you like this color I would try it first in a bathroom or something, not the place where you rest.  A sage green, or mint green is much more peaceful, yet still in the green family.  Have fun!

We painted the bottom half of our granddaughter's room lime green, kept the upper half white. Looks just fine.

It you are young guess you could get away with It.  But as most of us get older softer colour as more soothing to the senses for calming and sleeping..

You'll feel like you're in a hospital or mental ward after not too long - I wouldn't do it.  Some paint companies have an online tool that will let you create a room and then sample their different colours on the wall, ceiling, etc.  Try it, it'll give you an idea of what you'll be really looking for.

My room was painted bright pink with lime green baseboards and windowsills and i got very tired of it very fast. If you are wanting to paint lime green, I'd consider a bathroom versus an entire room, or just the bedroom wall that your bed is on.
