Is limewire still illegal if you purchase it?

Pay for napster.......if you want to download then get napster you pay a monthly fee but it is legal and safe.

it sounds to me it legal when you pay once a year a fee i dont use limewire to many virus sypware

You are stuck on a catch 22.....yeah and nay...the program itself it not illegal...you can buy that free and clear and not get into any trouble what so ever......

The illegal part is generated when you do just about anything with the software....if the information is copyrighted in any fashion and you download it without paying the normal price for it or either you don't have the consent of the copyright owner then yes it then becomes illegal because it is theft....

Even if you upgraded to pro it still is illegal to download copyrighted material....

Limewire and other file sharing software is legal. Using it to upload or download copyright protected media - music, videos, images, software - without the copyright holder's consent is illegal because it is theft.

It's a common misconception that paying for the pro version of Limewire makes it legal to download songs. The artists of the songs you download don't get a penny of that and it is still illegal.
