  1. the reason music is prohibitted generally is because the beat makes people feel like dancing, or in the case of rap swearing. for example, when in a club the music is pumping, the immediate thing people do is dance obviously, amongst muslims, dancing and swearing are satanic, as in they are temptations from the devil, therefore it is not good to listen to music. however, you may listen to a recitation, holy music or music which is soothing or religious, etc.

  2. I hate music and I can't stand with anyone sing a song!  when I sing I love it I sing to myself in the kitchen in bathroom in toilet etc?  I do beleive I have the x factor but I am too good to be on it thought!!

  3. I'm going to answer your question in accordance to what I believe in.

Music was not not allowed and I personally listen to music most of my free time. Because it's my only source of relaxation and lifts up my spirits when I'm down.

But what I try to do in Ramadan, is not to listen to those very s**y and seductive songs. eg: Hey s**y Lady or Candy Shop. etc.

Anyway, that's what I believe in. And as for me, I believe that Ramadan is a way of being close to god by praying and reading more of the Quran etc. and not preventing ourselves from stuff which is basically not wrong.

  4. From what i know, Music (depending on what it is, obviously rap or anything with profanity in it is defo not good) it's ok to listen to it providing you have done all your prayers, read the Qur'an etc.

Of course it is better to listen to a recitation or something, during Ramadan i have taken all my music off of my IPOD and replaced it with different recitations of different verses in the Qur'an and listen to it on my way to work on a morning/way home.

  5. During Ramadan, eating, drinking and marital relations r prohibited while u r fasting. Nothing else which is halal becomes haram during Ramadan. And nothing which is haram becomes halal. Expect for the seasonal Muslims.

Listening to music remains prohibited all through the12 months of the year.

  6. I am so grateful to my parents for not being muslim and not brainwashing me into such a miserable life. Ayatollah Khomeini really hit the nail on the head when he said there is no fun in Islam. What is the point of god creating a world full of beauty, music, laughter, love, etc, etc and then forbidding people from enjoying any of it.

  7. ummn im not sure but i think u can if u dont sing with it

  8. Why don't u consider reading The Quran instead?

Will listening to music have any benefit for you in the Hereafter? No, it has no benefit.

Life here is a test.. Music enjoins evil.. U might have a thousand reason to want to hear music, why it's not bad etc etc.. But why don't u "waste" your time reading The Quran, understand it, become a better Muslim..

  9. It is actually, because it keeps you away from prayers....

I cant keep myself from listening to music though =X so i just goto sleep

  10. It's better to listen to the Jesus and such, and the like

  11. As far as I am aware muslims do not listen to music and don't dance unless they are Sufi (which of course involves a lot of dancing, swirling etc).

  12. your not allowed to listen to music in the first place

  14. No coz Allah has forbidden the Music for the mankinds through out the life. So when we know that music is haraam in Islam then how can one expect it to be lawful during the special period i.e. Ramadan?

  15. Its not.

But during the 10 days you have to wear black, its called 3ashora, you cant at all.

  16. Just as long as the music doesn't hasten your transition into an islamic terrorist, its okay.

    .

  17. Not if the song is "Boiled Beef and Carrots" (except after sundown of course.)

  18. This is a link to an answer about musis by Sheikh Nuh Ha mim keller

  21. Well, it depends on the musics you're listening to.

Some sort of music like you know with bad points can harm your concentration on your fasting..

Just keep it on the Down Low, also try not to put on music it also helps.
