I'm a 60 year old massage therapist considering a move to Melbourne, Aus. My boyfriend is an artist. How easy is it to find work? What do houses cost to buy? Rent? Can a US citizen become a full time resident and work easily? Any information you can offer will be much appreciated.

  1. i don't think australia is as expensive as the u.s.we have a pretty low number of people out of work here. to rent a house ,depending on size and how lavish you want it to be could range from $ 135-350 per week .where the house is also has  an effect on the price range. to buy a home could set you back about $ 150,000- 550,000 again depending on what you are looking for .how big? where? seaside places are higher priced than country places.  can't say about becoming a full time resident but i would contact the australian embassy or a migration office . hope this is some help
