i think it is

1. you can't get in any shops due to 'chipeaters' (tourists)

2. they're always the chav family in track suits with 50 kids

3. they 'pack' out restaurants & mcdonalds

4. in winter everyone hibernates & it becomes a ghost town

ANY MORE?

  1. I would say so. I live in South Carolina,USA. The beach is wonderful. Unfortunately, everyone else thinks so too,so we are overwhelmed with tourists in the summer. Some are quite rude! Traffic is terrible. The grocery stores are crowded, as are the restaurants. It's the same in Florida. Any beach town anywhere would probably be the same. In winter, some places become ghost towns.

  2. where i live am surrounded by the sea don't mind the holiday makers at all and not dead in winter still plenty going on

  3. I have to disagree. I live in Barnegat, New Jersey, USA, and we have two barrier islands, about six miles out to sea. There is the Seaside area and the Long Beach Island area. I don't go to Seaside because the people there seem to be of a lower class. On LBI the smallest home would sell for more then one million dollars, and they can go as high as ten million. People that can afford to go there are not scum, but for the most part they are very nice people. My list of reasons to live there could be a long one, but I'll just match your 4.

1-They bring those beautiful women in their dental floss bikinis

             (My personal favorite)

2-They give a very large boost to the economy of the area.

3-There are unlimited part time jobs for the youth in the area

4-When they all go home we still have the beauty of the shore area, that was the reason we moved here in the first place.

We call these people BENNYS, which denotes where they come from in northern New Jersey, and New York.

Bayonne,Elizabeth,Newark, New York, and Staten Island

Some times the less then favorable element is refereed to as WEBs, which means Week End b******s, but we mean it affectionately.

  4. i agree with all of the above. i live in sussex (battle) for part of the year i tend not to go when its the school holidays even more chavs about. why are seaside towns mainly full of scum?

  5. yes i agree with you in part...i live in newquay, cornwall and yes in the summer it is very.very, very overcrowded but tourists help the cornish economy and are most welcome. In the winter newquay is simply beautiful, the town is quite but if there is an event most locals turn out for it which leads to a very nice community feel....people who live here do care for the town.

  6. Well i dont know to be honest :s i live in the city birmingham lol, and it has all of the above anyway hahaha! What about blackpool seaside ? ? ?

I think where every you go your going to have the same problem haha, unless you move to mars LOL.

  7. I think some of the people who answered should be ashamed of themselves. Have you ever thought that these single parents and lesser off people congregate at these places because it's all they can afford? I think it's pretty scummy to put these people down and refer to single parents kids as 'b******s'. I spent a few years as a single parent, I'm well educated and from a good family I simply fell for the wrong guy who pushed me into having a child, I had so little confidence I let it happened and yes you're right he left me! I chose to keep my beautiful daughter and now I have been married to my new Husband for 8 years and I have another little girl, I have a good job and probably earn a good wage. Don't judge people until you've walked in their shoes as you have no idea what you're talking about!

  8. Due to all those reasons I holiday abroad. I do my best to find a resort that does'nt cater for the knotted hanky brigade, string vests and a 15 year old girl dragging a b*****d kid along.

  9. I'm from a seaside town and we don't get that so much because it isn't a popular seaside town (it's on the Wirral, which is in Merseyside).   We do get people from Liverpool etc coming over when the weather is nice, but that's OK because they're usually gone by about 4-5pm and they provide much needed trade for the shops around there.

But you can't really complain - seaside towns and popular holiday spots would die if it wasn't for the tourists - just ask any Thai about that who lives in an area affected by the Tsunami - they might find the tourists a pain at times, but they know exactly what happens when they stop coming for a few months.

I love seaside towns and I especially love them off-season - when the wind is blowing and the rain is battering the promenade, then they're great places to be as far as I'm concerned.  I'm happy to go in winter and I think that the seaside is becoming more popular in winter now mainly because of the lack of crowds and cheaper hotel rooms.  so that's good for the seaside town tourist industry - the visitors are becoming more constant throughout the year.

But if it annoys you, then speak to some of the seaside business owners about it (hotel/chip shop/restaurant/penny arcade owners) and see what they say.  I'm sure most of them will be honest enough to admit that if it wasn't for the tourists then they'd have to close up and move elsewhere.

  10. Lol. I agree.

    5. The gulls become aggressive as the chavs.

    6. Your car rusts quicker than a tinfull of salt.

    7. The tide washes up dead body parts (in Scotland anyway).

    8. Punch and freakin Judy shows.

    etc.
