That depends on what part of student life in Germany you're looking at.. And what part of Germany you want to live in.

In general it's pretty easy. You can live in a WG. And there are usually lots of good parties to go to. And you have lots of free time.

Uni in Germany is also free. But it's a lot different than Uni in the US. For one thing, your entire grade depends on the exam. You have tutorials, but no essays or group projects or anything like that to hand in. The students also have to be very independent. You don't have some teacher telling you what to do. So you can pretty much spend your time doing whatever you want, which can be disastrous if you're not a very disciplined student.
