Is looking up fictional family trees considered part of genealogy?

Examples would be: The Black family in Harry Potter, the family trees in the Chronicles of Narnia, ect.

  1. On the rare times that I read any fiction, I always get a smile to see genealogies included. To directly answer your question.. WHERE would you do further looking up? You will only find those persons in that series of books, so that kind of cramps your research.  My 'bad' is that if I did see such records, I would be analyzing them to see how good they were.

    Personal chuckle.. there was a time when I read any book I could get my hands on.  Reader's digest books were good, because they had a lot of 'meat'.  Then I got hooked on genealogy.  Now I can't remember the last time I touched any fiction book.
