Is love an obligation or a pressure?

my bf says that love is a pressure,what does this mean?

I guess it depends on many things. Age has allot to do with love and peer pressure. As you grow more mature, the love is more about true feeling and emotional connections. the world has made love out to be something it is not. It is NOT something that if you do NOT have that makes you weird or odd. It is NOT about cards and candy and jewelry. It IS about connecting on many levels, and finding a partner to grow old together with, to share you lives, hope, dreams, and support each other when things are tough.

Personally, I think love is a privilege that should be cherished. But what your boyfriend might mean is that there's a lot of pressure involved with love. Pressure to dress nice, be romantic, etc.

I think he means that society makes a big deal about the idea of being in love.
