Is love really all that great?

Question

I think i am scared of falling in love, if love is even real, because what if it turns out to be some average mediocre thing? i would be so disappointed because of all the hype love gets. and also, how the heck do i know the difference between love and liking somebody? i am cynical about love.. your thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

it's all subjective really.  They say "I love you with all my heart" but it's a feeling that you get that's inside your head.  It's not all hype, just some of it... I have an easy quiz for you...

The way to tell if you love someone is real easy.  If you think about them more than you think about yourself... then it's love.

I always tell people, "On your wedding day you should have NO DOUBTS." I had doubts with my first marriage, and it lasted a year and a half.  With my second I had NO DOUBTS, and we're going on out happy 31st anniversary.

For you, it would be great to just be friends first, with no thoughts of love. Then once you get to know him, you'll gradually fall in love, and you will know it's love.  Don't be scared.  When you find the right man, he's going to put you up on a pedastal, and you'll feel safe. :)

when you're actually 'in love' it's the greatest thing in the world but when you break up or stop seeing each other and it really sucks.

Love, to me, is the feeling of total comfort with another person. Someone that you trust will accept you unconditionally, that will always consider your feelings, will always care about your well-being, and who enjoys spending time with you. In turn, you should feel like you can be yourself around this person without fear of being judged. You should want the best for them, and you should return all the things I mentioned above.

Love isn't big and dramatic. It's warm and cozy. And when you find that happiness, you will know what it feels like. It's the best feeling in the world.

LOve is really that great I mean u might get hurt but you'll never know how much u like him or her unless you fall in love it feels like ur floating on air u get butterflies u feel so great inside the only downside is that when ur around them I get a self consioucs (w/e) but yea GreAT!

It's real, alright.

Choose someone who makes you laugh and who you love talking to and listening to. When you get old like me, sharing your life with your best friend is very important. It's not like when we first met, if you get my meaning. It is better. We can sit quietly for hours together and be happy just being.

What I told my kids was not to choose someone who they could live with. There will be lots of those. Choose the one you can't live without.

And lastly, don't forget that love is a verb.

LOVE IS REAL. even in simple things love exist. if i were you.. its best if you'll be optimistic. dont be so cynical cause if you continue staying that way you won't have a good relationship with anyone. love is the greatest thing one can have. love is different from liking. for me liking is the first step in falling in love. and falling inlove is great! if you love someone and you're happy being with them, then why would you hold your self back from love? being cynical sometimes is useless and won't make you happy.. love can fullfill the missing parts in you. even if theres soo many things that can go through against it. ofcourse, if theres love theres hurt. its part of life and its normal. you just need to learn how to cope up with it. and yes, love is fun and exciting, esp when its real. its not just a hype. you will know if its is love if you follow your heart. take a chance, give love a shot. be rational. and dont waste the opportunities love can give you. take it slow and easy. goodluck :)
