Is mac better for design?

I'm a freelance graphic/web designer

and i was wondering if mac is better for design

i just got a new dell with windows vista but since i bought it ive heard a lot about mac being better

if it's worth it ill put down the money for a mac also

Yes, without a doubt. But there are a lot of people out there using PCs for design and they do just fine.

It really depends on how much processor-intensive work you're going to be doing, and how much you can afford. If you're just using Photoshop/Illustrator/Flash, then you can probably get by just fine with your PC. If you're doing all that, plus video or animation, get yourself a G5 tower. You'll be glad you did.

yes, but unless you're doing something extraordinary you'll be fine on windows.  In the end, it boils down to how well you can work with whatever computer you have.  If you have a pc and it does fine for you then stick with it.  If you have the need for something more, go for a mac tower.
