Is maine one of the original 13 colonies of america?

cause i have a test tmr but im not sure if maine is one of them cause if you add maine, it'll be fourteen but a lot of maps put maine as one of the 13. I have to know the original 13 colonies and their present state capitals.

Yes and No, originally Maine was part of Massachusetts which used to be a bigger state yet, it has always been physically apart from Massachusetts.

It was an exclave of Massachusetts until it became the 23rd state on March 15th, 1820.
