Is making hybrid engines and low gas consuming engines just postponing the inevitable?

Sure, these engines emit less carbon, but they still do emit carbon, but these engines don't solve the global warming problem!

  1. That is exactly what they do.  Slowing down the rate of change gives us more time to adapt.  Hence the pressure.


  2. There is no one silver bullet that will solve the whole range of problems we face.   Every little bit helps.   Don't even think of it as postponing global climate change, but helping to keep your wallet full if that will make you feel better.

    Hopefully it will educate people to the more pleasurable driving experience of electric vehicles that don't lug around noisy, smelly, complicated infernal combustion engines dependent on a long and insecure suppy chain

  7. They're a step in the direction of solving the problem.  Anything we can do to reduce our overall greenhouse gas emissions is a positive step.
