Question:

Is mascara supposed to look like this?

I recently bought Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara. I'm kinda beginner at mascara but I've used it before once or twice. Anyways, love the mascara wand and there's no clumps, but still when I put it on .. it kind of looks.. spidery? I'm not sure how to explain it but it doesn't look natural at all =( Like my eyelashes look like little curled sticks of hair. In the picture on the case thing, the roots of the eyelashes are thicker than the ends (so if you imagine one eyelash, its like a stretched out triangle). But my eyelashes don't look like that.. it's one width the whole way. Is that why it looks weird? Should I change my mascara?

  1. well, I have that mascara, and it's just alright. I'm a makeup junkie, and since you're a beginner, here are some pointers about picking out mascara:]

    1) pick your lash style. Do you like it volumized (like what you explained) or long? Black or Brown? Bold or natural?

    2) find a mascara that doesn't clump, run, fade, flake, spread, or irritate your eyes. Only buy one that says it does none of these things. If it doesn't say it, it won't do it.

    3) figure out the health factor. Never pump the brush in and out of the tube since that increases risk of infection and dries out the mascara faster. Replace every 6 weeks at the shortest, three months at the longest. Mark it on your calendar.

that particular mascara tends to flake on me.

here are the mascaras that work:

Dior Diorshow Mascara (natural to dramatic, but expensive.)

Blinc Kiss Me Mascara (natural and stays on perfect + easy to remove, but expensive)

Maybelline 9x volume express (only apply to top: can come off otherwise)

Great Lash (same as volume express)

MAX factor volume couture has been my best experience. It meets all my requirements, including easily removable and dramatic. All the MAX factor mascaras are wonderful. Go to their website, and figure out what look is the best for you. You won't be dissapointed.

    Happy shopping! :]

  2. Are you using a eye curler?

It looks really nice when you use a eye curler first

  3. Ugh. I hate mascaras that do that. it does look really bad.

    change your mascara.

best one i know of (& iv been through alot) is Covergirl LashBlast! always look for ones that say they thicken your eyelashes. when i buy mascaras like define a lash, i use those as a final base that i put on top of the ones that thickens my lashes, but never wear them alone.

Read and look for ones that volumize and thicken. && make sure the brush itself is nice and thick. buying the brushes that are curved saves time from you using the eyelash curler and it gives your eyes a nice look.

Hope i helped! Good luck =)

  4. thats how most mascaras look like. try to apply more to the root and less to the ends. and also try using an eyeylash curler before

  5. your not doing it right

watch videos on youtube.com ect telling you what to do www.videojug.com/film/how-to-apply-masca... .

  6. ohh my god! i am TOTALLY like youu! like i just bought that too, and i have only used mascara like twice before this one, and i think it looks kinda scary too.

sorry, i dont know the answer, but i jus felt like i needed to tell you. (:

    haha.
