  1. WELL IF YOU DIVIDE 1 BY 3 ON YOUR CALCULATOR IT IS ACCTUALLY .3 REOCCURING WHICH MEANS FOREVER AND 33 TIMES 3 IS ACCTUALLY NOT 100 33.333333333333333333333333333333(REOCCU... IS 100 TRY IT OUT ON YOUR CALCULATOR. tHEY SHORTEN IT TO .33 FOR CONVINIENCE

ASK ME IF YOU STILL DON'T GET IT

    HOPE THIS HELPS LOL.

  2. I'm not really sure if your at Calculus yet, but what is involved is Limits. 1/3 is only a close "guess" its so close to the actual value that it is that value. what i mean is that as x goes towards 1/3, it gets close, but it can never reach it. its a really weird concept and i'm not sure if explained it simple enough, but anyways, its a gross estimation of its actual value.

    Sorry if it doesn't help...

  3. called converting a fraction to the closest decimal

not an exact science - but get's you close

    1/3 real equals .333333333333333333333333333333333333

ad infinitum - we sometimes come

to finally a 4 at the end (but only one)

like the question - WHAT is a BILLION

    A billion:

    Seconds - was the 1960's

    Minutes - Jesus was alive

Hours - the dinosaurs roamed the earth

    Dollars in Washington DC - - - - - - 20 minutes

well - that puts it in perspective

    all the best

  4. this is right. it is .99 repeating forever, which is basically 1, so you just round up
