  1. maths could help us in both biology and physics field

  2. If you've ever wondered just how much extra-credit you need to hit a certain grade, then you know how important math is in other classes.  When you master parts of math, you master different ways of thinking, and math is one of the few ways of thinking that directly translates across the globe.  So slog through it and master it.  You'll be thankful later.

  3. Yes it is,

In Geography, Chemistry- you must do calculations.

In History- there are a bunch of dates. To know the time between now and then, you have to work it out.

In Business and Accounts- Definitely lots of numbers

In Food and Nutrition- Counting calories, measuring out ingredients.

In English, Literiture- Essays have word limits- that's some serious averaging.

In Physical Education- Keeping score during games eg. volleyball is math.

Biology and Chemistry- balancing formulas is math.

I hate Math but I had to do it.

  4. Nishtha, math is the underpinning to all the 'hard' sciences. Whether your interest is in space exploration, marine biology, computer science, or acoustic physics, you're going to need math to succeed.

I wish I'd kept a copy, but I read a study about ten years ago that people who took math all the way through high school and college earned a substantial amount more than those who did not, regardless of what they did for a living.

  5. Dear friend,

Maths is important and a compulsory subject till high school. It is a very useful subject whether you opt for Commerce or Science Stream at your +2 level. So, you are the master of the situation, as to whether you want to opt for mathematics or not after your High School.

  6. Since you spell it maths, I imagine you're in the UK, or at least not in the USA.  Math is based on logic and reason, so one way to get better at it is to take a logic class or a debating class.  Outside the USA, you are exposed to proofs much more, and that's where you see that "showing your steps" is like proving the answer is true.

Math is used mostly in engineering, science and statistics.

  7. yes ofcourse maths is the backbone of science..

all the physics calculation require big calculations..

it would never be easy to do without math...

in chemistry finding all the molecular wieght and all stuff...

and in computer science the whole computer is designed by trail and error method of mathematical calculations...

    yesterday there was a question..

it had asked to explain why science is a mathematical language..

u can lookup in the questions...

  8. Math is critical in music because everything is timed so precisely.  Math is very helpful in science classes because so much of it has to do with measuring.  It's not quite as important in arts classes such as reading and foreign language unless you want to figure out how many pages you have to read each day to finish a particular book on time.  It's nearly impossible to go a single day as an adult without using math in some way.  While I don't use trig or calculus every day, algebra and geometry have proven invaluable.
