Besides Harry Potter, they're like the best books ever. I love them. Iggy is my favourite character. Basically, it's about 6 kids who are mutant freaks that have wings, and they escaped from "the School", which is more like an illegal lab where they were experimented with. Then they capture one of the kids, and the other kids have to go after them...that's the first book. It's sooooo wonderful! The books are in this order. 1. Maximum Ride: the Angel Experiment. 2. Maximum Ride: School's Out-Forever. 3. Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports. 4. Maximum Ride: The Final Warning. Hope you enkoy them!

They're really good actually.  I read the first one because I thought it was same story as Wind the Blows and Lakehouse, but it's not.  Same principle idea but not that same characters.

Yeah they're pretty awesome. There's a couple of books in the series.
