She is the mother goddess of the Medes. Her name means Wise One. She was the Great Goddess of all the Aryan tribes of Parthia. She was all-wise and never died but dwelt forever in heaven.

The classic story of her ill-starred marriage to Jason apparently was based on a captured idol of the goddess. Her rites were too bloody for Greek taste.
