Is medical marijuana legal or illegal in Washington State?

It is not considered legal in Washington, but it allows for the defendant in a trial to use this as a defense provided they meet the requirements in the Washington RCW's.  In a federal court in Washington or any where one can not use that as a defense.

To the best of my knowledge only California permits medical marijuana and the Feds there don't permit it. It is being fought out in court.
