Like, not meditating as a religious thing, but more like doing it for peace or something.

  1. well our prophet used to go and think deeply in the cave at hira. its where he received his revelation.

a muslim is asked in the quran to contemplate about the universe,as to better understand allah.

but the yogi floating about de air typa meditation i dont think so. what the h**l do people do when they meditate? trying ta acheive peice? why do they sit cross legged? its not comfortable, why dont they just lie down? wouldn't that be more comfy? why do the people who wanna meditate dont just go take a nap or sommat? sitting there trying to achieve something as futile as "inner peace" is just such a big futile waste of time. why no think deeply about something and try to figure something out?

  4. nope,death to islam.

    long live cyrus the great!!

  5. sure.. thinking about it in a regular sort of sense.. why not? i could see why someone might shout BIDAA.. but you arent doing it to be closer to Allah or because you think that its better than your obligatory prayers (which are supposed to bring u peace as well !).. but just as a calming thing, yea..why would that be haraam?

  6. I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed.  Usually things that are prohibited in Islam are not allowed for very straightforward reasons.

  7. yes... sufisim contains meditating... why not! meditiation is an act for inner peace! i actually have done meditation the spiritual "sufi way" (forgot what u call it lolz)... and it is so interesting....(sitting legs crossed.. nothing too complicated u close ur eyes, have the lights low... or something and just concentrate on your breathing... and the higher being..)  like ierno how to explain. so many ways of meditating... and nothing wrong with it. it's a great feeling.. and so relaxing...

  8. meditation means to contemplate on something.  We are told in the Qur'an to contemplate its meaning, and the creation of Allah, and all the signs...

therefore if u are contemplating on normal thoughts, or about your creator, or solution of a problem, etc. within the limits of Islaam, nothing wrong in it.  But if you are contemplating about things and in manners of the kuffaar, such as sit in their ways, etc. then this is not good.  because eventhough u don't want it to be religious, yet you are following someone else's beliefs and religion.  how wud that work when Islaam opposes such practices?

  9. That's a good question. Well, when I was in 6th grade they had this thing called, "open mindness" or something like that, and it was when we had to meditate. I had to ask my mom if I could do it. She didn't know either, but the lady told us it's nothing religious, it's just something to help you stay focused. So we did it. But to tell you the truth, it really works!!! Before I did it, it was hard for me to pay attention in class, but after that, I started paying close attention, and it was a lot easier for me. We did it a few times a week. Now that I stopped doing it, it's sort of getting a bit hard for me to pay attention. But trust me, it worked!!! It wasn't really religious or anything. You should ask an imam about that.

  10. It's okay..
