around here we have a lot of bp's, tesoro's and cenex stations, not to forget, exxon, and holliday, is there really a difference in the gas mileage or is it all the same if you burn the same octane?

i know the loaf and jug gas really hurts your mileage from my own experience

  1. there's not that much difference in  any of it,most of the stations i buy from 87 octane will run as good in any of my vehicles, usually the only difference is the price of it,all gas has to meet certain standards these days,s its all basically the same except for the price of it,good luck.

  2. Unless the tanks of the station are tainted (polluted) with something else , or the pumps give wrong readings you will get the same - They mostly come from the same refineries

  3. All the same.   Even the grade of octane make no difference.

What's different is the additives, whether they leave deposits on your fuel system or clean your fuel system. But most people just care about whether you can pay at the pump :)
