  1. what's a riya?

  2. what is ar riya again?

oh ok......Allaah forgives all sins except associating partners with him and dying in that state of shirk.

  3. [4:36] You shall worship GOD alone - do not associate anything with Him. You shall regard the parents, the relatives, the orphans, the poor, the related neighbor, the unrelated neighbor, the close associate, the traveling alien, and your servants. GOD does not like the arrogant show-offs.

31:18-19] "You shall not treat the people with arrogance, nor shall you roam the earth proudly. GOD does not like the arrogant showoffs. "Walk humbly and lower your voice - the ugliest voice is the donkey's voice."

showing off is not SHIRK.(SHIRK IS BIGGEST SIN)

Shirk is unforgiveable,if not repented.if one dies as a mushrik.his/her abode is h**l forever

    showing off is not SHIRK..

there is NO classification of SHIRK as major or minor, shirk is a shirk and it is unforgiveable if not repented.

the word shirk as understood by majority is statue worshipping or bowing down to statues, although this is a shirk BUT there are shirks which majority indulge in unknowingly..like as follows

A simple definition of idolatry would be if we were to give anything more importance than God. We have to keep in mind that God has communicated to us through His proven final scripture - the Quran. If we look to religious law through words other than the words of the Quran, we are well in the confines of idolatry.

There is no difference between equating someone with God (example: Jesus) or equating words other than that of God with God's words (example: words of humans to words of God in the Quran).

    IDOLATRY

We learn from the Quran, that idolatry is the only unforgivable sin if maintained till death.

"God does not forgive idolatry, but He forgives lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Anyone who sets up idols besides God, has forged a horrendous offense." 4:48

[4:116] GOD does not forgive idol worship, and He forgives lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Anyone who idolizes any idol beside GOD has strayed far astray.

It would make sense thus to see and examine what is idolatry and look at various definitions of Idolatry given in the Quran.

    1. Calf, statues as an Idols (2:51, 21:51-53).

    2. Worshipping other gods (is worshipping the devil) (4:117).

    3. Jesus as idol (5:72).

    4. Jinns as idols (6:100).

    5. Children as idols (7:190).

    6. Humans as idols (7:194).

    7. "Intercessors" as Idols (10:18). From the Quran, it is obvious - there is no intercession by anyone on the Day of Judgment.

    8. Satan as idol (14:22).

    9. Property as idol (18:42).

    10. Prophets & messengers as idols (3:79).

    11. God's servants as idols (18:102).

    12. EGO as idol (25:43). Most humans, because of their ego cannot bring themselves to worship God, nor can they make their opinion subordinate to God's opinion spelled out in the Quran because of their ego.

    13. Following a source other than Quran is idolatry. The following verse makes it clear that the Quran is God's Testimony. Following any other source is defined as idolatry.

[6:19] Say, "Whose testimony is the greatest?"

Say, "GOD's. He is the witness between me and you that this Quran has been inspired to me, to preach it to you and whomever it reaches. Indeed, you bear witness that there are other gods beside GOD." Say, "I do not testify as you do; there is only one god, and I disown your idolatry."

Worshipping God is to obey His words only (Quran) and not the words of humans (scholars, religious leaders, mullahs, etc.).

    14. Religious leaders and scholars as idols (9:31, 2:257, 6:137). We learn from the Quran that idols cannot Judge (40:20), idols cannot create anything and are powerless (13:16, 46:4) and idols do not bring us closer to God (39:3). We learn that idolaters follow conjecture (6:148, 98:1) and that idolaters DENY IDOL WORSHIP - now & on the Day of Judgment  (6:22-24).

The Quran points out that the MAJORITY  of those who worship God fall into IDOLATRY (12:103, 12:106).

Thats why Allah Allmighty Says in Glorious Quran to remember and glorify him frequently,so that one may always remember WHO is their God,and doesnt indulge in idolatory.

    "O you who believe, you shall remember God frequently;

glorify Him day and night." 33:41

  5. Oh no no, Showing off is absolutely one of the shirk and it is very very very much disliked by Allah..and it can never be forgiven but Allah is all forgiving, if u promise him not to show off again then surely he will forgive you, rest Allah knows best..
