Much depends on which part you choose to live in, it is a large area and like most places has a few trouble spots. On the whole though i would say that it experiences less trouble than some of the other places nearer London suburbs. Surrey itself is a most beautiful county to live in. Expensive though due to its proximity to the city, and coastal areas.

Mitcham covers quite a large area from Streatham down to almost Morden.  Some streets are nice and some are horrible - would need to know more details on where exactly you were.

its okay i guess, my friend used to live there, but like most london boroughs it does have alot of problems, espcialy with gang crime etc but its better than some places :)
