Is modified corn starch some thing like high fructose corn syrup? ?

I got this box of Triple Berry-O's Cereal from Trader's Joe.And one of the ingredients listed is Modified Corn Starch.

I find it a bit sweet....are cereals really good for people who are pre-diabetic?I heard High fructose corn syrup is real bad and makes u gain weight. Is modified corn starch some thing same and bad as well?

  1. They are different  things but it is a very highly refined carbohydrate.  Just calories with no other nutritional value.  


  2. Anything hiding under the names "modified," "hydrolyzed," and "autolyzed" are MSG. My dad's favorite saying about all the nasty chemicals found in foods is that they eat holes in our brains. Lovely. So next time you feel empty-headed blame it on what you eat.
