  1. safe yes affective no

but for fresh breath get three listerine strips and put them on the designated areas

    back of throat

    top of mouth

and rip on in half and put it on the sides u might cough a little its ok

  2. A dental hygenist once told me you could dilute a small amount of hp (3% pharmacy) into a glass of water and rinse your mouth out once in a while. 'Wouldn't do it too often though. It will reduce mouth odor if that's what you're after.

  3. Very effective... it's a natural antibiotic,

but you have to dilute the 3% more by putting say 15-20 drops in a glass of warm water...

Drinking Hydrogen Peroxide also is a good way to increase oxygen levels in the body/blood.... but again you have to dilute it (3-4 drops in a glass of water) and drink it immediately..

    Good Luck

  4. its gross its only for if you have an open cut or infection not to make breath fresher or whatever

  5. Hydrogen Peroxide will destroy all organisms in your mouth. There are resident bacteria that are supposed to be there to maintain good oral health. Brushing your teeth daily and flossing is more than adequate unless you suffer from chronic mouth disease. Its also toxic. I would avoid using it.

  6. I use baking soda instead, tested better. It  clean really good

    Is also good for sore throat......GL :}

  7. It tastes bad, but it can be very helpful if you have gum disease.  I have heard that it's good to make a paste of diluted hydrogen peroxide and baking soda and rub it on your gums.

  8. I have used it for years as a mouthwash.. but not full strength.. dilute it with water... about 2 parts water to 1 part hydrogen peroxide.  It was proven years ago to reduce inflamation and gingivitis. It is recommended to be used several times a week.. not necessary every day.

  9. Pure hydrogen peroxide? NO! Do you realise what that stuff does to you? It's acid, if you've ever colored your hair with 15% of the stuff it burns your scalp like mad and causes your hair to snap and fall out. I would NOT like to put that in my mouth.

Stick to cleaning them with crest whitening strips, after a few times of using them your teeth are white.

  10. My dentist said it could lead to a coated tongue and not much else. Although I have heard that it can be used to whiten teeth.

  11. go for it..

  12. Yes, the FDA actually has mandated all mouth washes sold in the US contain Hydrogen Peroxide.

The two main problems with hydrogen peroxide are

    a) having too high a concentration

    b) swallowing it.

When someone does a mouth wash, they will typically use the 3% found in the store (which is in a low enough concentration, although some people like to dilute it a bit more), and won't swallow it.

I personally have been using H2O2 instead of tooth paste for years (and I've gotten multiple friends too as well).  We've all found it produces much better results than normal dental hygeine products and I am yet to hear of a negative side effect occuring.

Also "friendly" bacteria don't really exist in the mouth; they're only in the GI tract.  The bacteria in your mouth feed on the food you consume and give you wonderful things like cavities, so putting a strong non toxic anti microbial agent into your mouth doesn't really do anything bad.

    However, swallowing it can!

    Hope that helps!

*In case you care, H2O2 is also really effective for gargling when you have a sore throat you need to fix.

    Edit to GOTH-ANGEL

I met an (open minded) dentist a while back who I told about my views on using H2O2 instead of toothpaste, and he said I actually was correct, it's extremely effective BUT there are certain things peroxide won't get (which baking soda does) and he was of the opinion the ideal toothpaste was just peroxide and baking soda mixed together.  So technically if you want to be thorough and do the best job for your teeth, you should use both, but solely for killing bacteria, H2O2 tends to be the main thing to use.
