  1. I am a husband in the same boat you are; we're packed out and sitting in a hotel waiting for the flight to Seoul.

Do you have a government employee passport (pink, not blue)? It's different from a tourist passport, and you want to be sure that you have the right kind. My wife is not military but she will be working for the DOD, so I assume the requirements are the same.

Anyway, as the other person said, there is an office at Yongsan that will help you find an apartment (and a job, if you like). Maybe we'll meet you there!

  2. You are talking about the military right? The military will help you find an apartment... You will have other english speaking people to relate to while experiencing the wonders that are Asian Culture.

It will really open your mind... Being exposed to cultures THAT DIFFERENT from yours can ONLY benifit you and allow you to see the world as full of shades of Grey.

I would do it... But then, I'm a nut-job that LOVES to experience the 'different' side of the world from where I started.

If you are really afraid, then don't do it... But if you put your best face forward, you will only grow from the experience... It is only a year! Then you can go wherever you want to go...

    GO FOR IT!
