Is my 2004 Yukon Denali flex-fuel capable?

I just bought a 2004 Yukon Denali and I wanted to know if I can use E-85 fuel in it. If not, can I buy a kit for it? If not, what is the worst that can happen if I put e-85 in it instead of gasoline?

  1. if the truck does not say flex fuel on it then you cannot use the e85. if you do use it, you will run into a problem with fuel leaks, fuel system damage, and immediately decreased power.

  2. NO to the first question.

YES to the second question.( several on-line companies claim to be able to convert vehicles equipped with gasoline engines to be compatible with E85 Fuels). ..DON'T DO IT.

And for your third question, the worst is replacing the motor, (burnt pistons/burnt valves, well you get the idea).

Your truck's computer is not capable of distinguishing between E10 and E85 therefore it can NOT make the necessary adjustments.

you will have multiple drivability issues, such as.

Lean Driveability concerns such as hesitations,

check engine light coming on.. (po300....p0171/p0174)

    various 02 sensor codes

    traction control /stability system disabled

    harsh transmission shifts

should I continue with reasons NOT to use E85,

if you have to use E85,  trade it in and buy a true E85 flex fuel truck

Just worked on one that customer filled with E85 and it wasn't compatible.

                                           WHAT A MESS.
