This a new thing for her, she just got over being sick which is when i thought she would sleep more but she slept less. But right now for the past 4 days her sleeping pattern has been about 11 hours at night , sleep through the night most of the time, but then her nap which use to be barely an hour has switched to about one 3 hour nap, and she still wants to go to bed at 8:30 (which is her normal bed time). I am just want to make sure she isnt sleeping to much that i should worry. Thanks

  1. no thats apsultley normal, my 17 month son sleep 11hour nights and 3-4hour naps.

  2. My son sleeps just as much. I've noticed he does take longer naps when it is hot or humid and like the rest of us I guess it just makes you more tired. His naps vary between 1-3 hours and sometimes he doesn't take one at all. All in all he sleeps the same amount of time through the night no matter how long his nap is. I wouldn't worry, it sounds normal to me!

  3. My 3 year old takes a nap every afternoon from 12 to about 2:30 or 3 and she goes to bed at 8:30 or 9 o' clock p.m. and sleeps till 9-am but she plays outside and inside all day so i think your baby is just catching up on lost sleep it takes a lot out of them when they are sick she will bounce back to a normal schedule soon!!

  4. That's exactly how my daughter has slept since about the same time.  She is almost 29months now, and has only just in the past couple weeks, started having a nap slightly shorter than 3 hours.

  5. That's about how much sleep toddlers need. Even as she gets older, she'll still need the 10 - 12 hours at night, but her naps will gradually get shorter until she doesn't need to nap anymore. It's pretty close to the sleep schedule all of my kids had as toddlers. No worries :o)

  6. No, She's probably getting sick or going through a growing spert.. lol typo..

I slept a lot when i was growing!

  7. a baby can never sleep too much....

  8. unless it gets ridiculous like if she sleeps through the night and nearly all day then its fine, shes probaly catching up on lost sleep!! seeing as shes just got over being sick then this is definatley normal! enjoy it!!!!!

if its really worrying you, talk to your GP

  9. She may need to sleep more for some reason her body may be changing, but see your pediatrician if you are concerned.

  10. well my baby sister wont throw the same thing it ended up its just a baby thing but tack her to the Doctor just in case

  11. I would say that is about normal.  I have a 20 month old daughter and she sleeps 10-11 hours a night and takes a 2-3 hour nap during the day.  My son, who is 5 now, had about the same sleeping pattern as well.

  12. well that kind of worrys me can you tell a docter or something if she sleeps to much she can kill her imune system

  13. Yes I would say it is a little abnormal but I don't think that you should be too worried, she is sick and we all have the tendency to oversleep when we are sick being as rest is what she needs. Take her to the doctor, I'm sure everything will be ok.

  14. I dont think there is anything to be concerned about.  If you are concerned call her Dr.  My son just got done being sick also, and is sleeping alot more...he sleeps from 8-8 and takes a 2 hour nap.  I think from just being worn out from being sick, maybe a growth spurt, or just a new sleeping pattern.

  15. I wouldn't worry. You said she was sick and didn't sleep very well because of that. Her body just may be catching up. Maybe she is still a little sick too. She may not be showing symptoms, but her body may be taking care of her in that way. Also, she may be going through a growth spurt. When my son goes through a spurt, he tends to sleep also. Just let it ride out. She'll be ok.

  16. My 28 mo old daughter sleeps for a 12 hour stretch at night with a 2-3 hour nap in the daytime. My pediatrician said this is normal.

  17. That sounds about normal

  18. She is just trying to get her energy back, plus if she is sleeping during the night, and not getting up to early in morning then thats a good thing, wish it was my wee girl lol
