Is my 400m dash time any good?

I'm an 8th grader in middle school and specialize in the 400m and i run a 52 and 53. I blow out everyone I race against in my district but i dont know how good it is compared to other times run other places if tht makes any sense.

thats alright, about 49 seconds and under are good high school times, so your flying.

holy sh** that blows me out of everything. im a 7th grader and run a 72 and thats considered good. jeez.

Thats actually pretty good. I think the middle school record right now in the U.S. is like 51 seconds.keep it up though

Your time is way good. Don't let anyone tell you differently. A sub 55 400m is impressive and especially at your age.

Even with your times now you could plan on winning events in the 400m in High School. When people say that itis sub 49, they are talking about the people who sweep the event and never lose. That is far from average though.

The kid who took state this year where I live ran a 49, so your time is very good for your age, especially since he was a junior.

If you do improve you have a very good chance at excelling in the event, and with hard work- college scholarship and USA track championships. Remember a sub 45 second run, is an automatic qualifier for the US Olympic trials. No matter your age.
