  1. xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx = Card number. Now, this may also be your account number, but check your statement. You do keep them, don't you?

    xx-xx-xx = Sort code.

  2. the long numbers going across ur card is your card number ur account number is below that it should say anyway

  3. Your account number will be 8 digits beside the sort code.

Have you thought of asking your bank?

  4. Your account number - 8 digits - will appear on your card immediately after the sort code, which as you say comes in pairs of numbers.

  5. No, usually the bank account number is 8 digits or so. The 16 digit number on the card is the card number. My old card with Natwest didn't show my account number on the card either, only the sort code. (I assume for security reason if someone gets hold of your card)

Check your last statement for your account number, it should be located in one of the corners, along with your sort code.

  6. The sort code is the 3x2 digit number. On a credit card, the account number is the 16 digit number, and a sort code won't generally be shown (as a credit account isn't normally a bank account). The bank account is (now usually) an 8 digit number.  On my bank card, it is shown in smaller numbers than the card number, alongside the sort code.

  7. Yep.

  8. neither...your account number will be located on your bank statements or on your checks (if you have any) toward the bottom...the numbers on your card are you card number and security code number.

  9. The number on the card is the card number. The sort code is on the card too so that is right. However you account number will be on your statements or on your cheque book. Get in touch with your bank if you are still unsure

  10. No - the sort code is correct but your account number is ( i think ) about 8 digits long and its usually next to the sort code.

  11. Account numbers in the uk are 8 digits (7 for Lloyds but you put a 0 infront of the number to bring it up to 8)  The other number is the Sort Code.  Credit and debit cards have 16 digits so I think its probably this number.  Most bank cards can be used as debit cards these days - you hand it over to pay and the money comes from your account the same or next day.  Credit cards give you a bill at the end of the month.
